Artist

While running my graphic design business, I've also dedicated many years to working as an artist, producing original paintings.

I approach my artwork in various ways, creating miniature versions of larger works, displaying landscapes, and exploring satirical portraits and abstract images. My preferred mediums include pencil, acrylic, oil, and ink.

My graphic design background often leads me back to my computer and iPad for digital layerings, adding a textural interest that mimics elements from my surroundings.

I welcome visitors by appointment to see my work and share a cup of coffee or something stronger.

Teaching young artists and adults with learning disabilities.

Project: A Creative Response to ‘The Art of Chichester’ Exhibition at The Novium Museum.

A collaborative contribution of artwork, photography, and stories. A video & and zine were created by Article 12 Arts and Sanctuary charities as evidence of the talent and creativity we witnessed throughout this project.

We created a free exhibition of wonderful work by young artists.

I was born in Surrey, England in 1965. I attended Worthing Art School and The London College of Printing (now University College London UCL) to study Art, Design and Typography.

I'm a Graphic Designer, Artist, and Airbnb superhost, operating my business “Kate Britain” from my home office/studio in Bosham, West Sussex.

As the Creative Director and Trustee of an Arts Charity for seven years, I co-curated the charity’s annual London exhibitions at The Royal College of Art, Somerset House, and OXO Tower, Bargehouse.

I live with my patient husband and dog and love it when any of our four children (and granddaughter) pop home. We enjoy a beautiful view of our garden and the sea. When I’m not on a creative project, walking or camping, I’m preparing for visitors in the barn and Shepherd’s Hut as an Airbnb superhost!
